We are based in Castel, Mauritius and offer one-off consultations, follow up of previous health issues, as well as complete health checks depending on your requirements.

We are geared towards providing high-quality care in the fields of General (Internal) and Geriatric Medicine, with special focus on cardiovascular disease (particularly heart failure), hypertension, diabetes, stroke, falls (including syncope), dementia, musculoskeletal problems and renal disease.

Oaklands Medical Practice was set up in March 2017 by Dr Khalill Peeroo following his return from the United Kingdom after 17 years of study and training.

Given the status of the UK National Health Service (NHS) as one of the foremost healthcare systems in the world, the vision was to create a patient-centred health clinic in its image to serve the local population, with particular emphasis on professionalism, quality of care, and patient choice.

It was felt that there was a dire need to incorporate the latest medical knowhow and technology in local healthcare provision, based on sound evidence-based medicine. The practice therefore aims to offer a comprehensive, one-stop shop to cater for the needs of its patients.

We appreciate constructive feedback and patients can guide our service development to cater for their needs. The aspiration is that the local population can have a world-class medical service within easy reach and at affordable cost. We hope that you can be one of the beneficiaries of such a service, and help shape our future.

Our clinic is primarily a Consultancy-based service, i.e. we assess, offer advice and prescribe treatment for a range of medical conditions, commonly referred to as Internal Medicine. These include diseases such as:

• Cardiovascular disease
• Heart failure
• Hypertension
• Diabetes
• Renal disease
• Gastrointestinal (including liver) disease
• Musculoskeletal conditions
• Rheumatology
• Endocrine disorders, e.g. thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal pathology

We also specialise in conditions that become more common in older age, for example:

• Stroke
• Falls (including syncope)
• Dementia
• Incontinence
• Frailty
• Poly-pharmacy and its related complications

We aim to provide a one-stop clinic to assess your health holistically for your convenience, but also offer consultations on a one-off basis, as well as following up existing medical problems that you may have.
